Frequently asked questions about software for BJJ
Can I record the stripes on each BJJ belt?
Yes. You set up the intermediate ranks of each belt —in the IBJJF system, up to four stripes on coloured belts— and every promotion is stored in the student’s history with its date. The scale adapts to your academy: you can follow the IBJJF’s or your coaching team’s criteria.
Does it include black belt degrees and the coral and red belts?
Yes. As well as white, blue, purple, brown and black, you can add the black belt degrees and the coral (red and black, red and white) and red belts for the highest levels. Everything is configurable.
Can I separate attendance for gi and no-gi classes?
Yes. You create separate classes for gi, no-gi or open mat, each with its own timetable and instructor, and take attendance in each one. Then you check attendance by class or by student.
Does it work for academies affiliated to the IBJJF, the CBJJ or other organisations?
Yes. DigitalDojo doesn’t depend on any federation: you configure belts and ranks according to the organisation your academy belongs to or your own school’s criteria. The decision to promote remains the professor’s.
Can I manage BJJ kids with their own belts?
Yes. You set up the kids system —white, grey, yellow, orange and green, with their variants— alongside the adult one. Since the IBJJF requires students to be 16 for blue belt, the move to the adult system is recorded on the same student profile, with their full history.
What about students who train BJJ and also Muay Thai or MMA?
Each student has a single profile even if they practise several disciplines. Their attendance, ranks and ranking are shown per discipline, and their payments are in the same place.
Can my students check their belt and stripes?
Yes. From the student portal, on their phone, each student books their classes and checks their attendance history, belt progression and the ranking. Achievements and experience points (XP) are coming soon.
How much does the software cost for a BJJ academy?

Can I move the students I have in Excel to DigitalDojo?
Yes. You can import your student list from Excel or add them one by one. Before the full import it’s worth reviewing the template and testing with a few students.
